Math related events for students

Hudson River Undergraduate Math Conference was held last year at Williams College, April 30^th, 2005. Check the link for updates about next years conference.

Putnam Exam: This national math exam is given to undergraduate students every December. It’s a very difficult exam, so it is recommended that you attend practice sessions during the fall semester. Contact: Mark Halsey

Bard/Simon’s Rock Math Contest: Some years we participate in a math contest with Simon’s Rock.

Math/CS Colloquium Series: Periodic Math/CS Talks at Bard open the community.

Pi Day Activities: Pi Day next year is on Tuesday, March 14^th, 2006.

Mathematical Interests

My work in mathematics is in the area of algebraic combinatorics, discrete geometry, and computational commutative algebra. I hosted a Discrete Math Conference on OCTOBER 9^th, 2004 at Bard, and will be the Bard organizer for the American Mathematics Society meeting in October 2005.
