Objectives

The group project is designed to be completed in a small group. Your job is to identify questions that you can answer using the analytic techniques we’ve discussed in class, develop testable statistical hypotheses, and then answer the question, determining if your hypotheses have evidence for them.

As per the syllabus:

In your group project, you will perform a data analysis on real data, using the skills you’ve developed in the labs. This group project is a semester-summarizing version of the solo project—you will develop research questions, create visualizations, carry out analyses, and produce a final document that reports all of them.

The assignment is available on Brightspace. You’ll turn in the final project there, too. Only one person in each group needs to turn in the assignment; just make sure that you’ve confirmed that it’s been turned in.

The assignment is due at the end of lab on 12/14. (The class’s normal late policy applies.) Your group can request extra time (till the end of the semester), up until the end of that final lab.

You will be able to work on this project during lab on December 7th, although there is also a lab on chi-square. You will also have time to complete your work on 12/14.
