Mathematica

Mathematica is a very powerful computer program for mathematical calculations. It is useful in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and much more; it does numerical and symbolic calculations as well as very good graphics. Bard has a site license for Mathematica, and the program can be accessed at many campus computers. For further information about using Mathematica, please contact any of the faculty members in mathematics or computer science.

Mathematica Demos

The following Mathematica "notebooks" (that's what Mathematica programs are called) demonstrate various aspects of calculus, and can be used without any knowledge of the Mathematica program. Simply open each notebook with Mathematica, and at the bottom of the page you will see a box or boxes into which you can enter the relevant input, and various buttons and sliders that can be manipulated.

You can download all the notebooks in one .zip file, or you can download each notebook individually as a .zip file. The files need to be uncompressed prior to use.
